Park Gallanti Holiday Village: Integrated Access Control Combining Security, Technology and Guest Experience

In the heart of Park Gallanti Holiday Village, one of the longest-established holiday resorts on the Lidi Ferraresi coastline, technological innovation, security and high-quality hospitality come together in a major access redevelopment project delivered by FAAC and Magnetic^®.

Operating for more than 45 years, Park Gallanti is a well-established name in Italy’s open-air tourism sector.

“Park Gallanti is a strongly family-oriented resort with a highly loyal customer base,” explains Alessandro Cattel, the group’s Infrastructure Manager. “We welcome German, Swiss and Italian guests who return year after year. It is an intimate holiday village, designed for families and for a relaxing, safe holiday.”

In recent years, the resort has embarked on a redevelopment programme. The project covered the resort’s main entrances, exclusive guest-only areas and water park, transforming the arrival experience through an advanced, secure system that blends seamlessly with the holiday village’s overall aesthetic.

The challenge: controlling access without compromising the guest experience

The primary objective of the project was to regulate and manage both pedestrian and vehicle traffic entering and leaving the resort, ensuring that access was granted exclusively to authorised guests, without requiring security personnel to be present at all times.

Before our intervention, the entrances were neither automated nor managed through centralised systems.

In addition to the resort’s main entrance, Park Gallanti needed to control access to specific restricted areas within the holiday village, including the water park and private beach. The solution was to create an integrated access control ecosystem based on the Keydom platform, capable of connecting and coordinating all the installed devices.

The project included the installation of:

• FAAC B680H automatic barriers equipped with licence plate recognition cameras for vehicle access
• A Magnetic® mWing pedestrian gate at the entrance to the water park
• FAAC automation systems for the pedestrian gates leading to the beach
• A FAAC automatic pivot-and-slide door at the reception entrance
• RFID readers for identifying guests’ wristbands
• Centralised control through the Keydom platform

“Last year, we fully automated the main vehicle and pedestrian entrance, as well as access to the beach,” explains Cattel. “We created an integrated system featuring licence plate recognition and RFID wristband readers, giving us complete, centralised access control.”

Magnetic^® mWing: selective access, elegance and architectural integration

One of the project’s most distinctive features is the Magnetic^® mWing pedestrian gate installed at the entrance to the water park. Several factors influenced the choice: the need for selective access, architectural integration with the new pool entrance and the search for a solution with strong aesthetic appeal.

“We chose mWing for its aesthetics and its ability to integrate seamlessly into the architecture,” emphasises Cattel. “We wanted a clean, elegant entrance that would blend perfectly into the holiday village environment.”

The pedestrian gate was also selected to ensure maximum accessibility for families with pushchairs, people with reduced mobility and guests carrying beach trolleys.

“Our guests often move around with pushchairs, children and equipment. We needed wide, convenient access points that would make it easier for them to get around without creating barriers.”

The GBF 1500 pivot-and-slide door: technical performance and aesthetic value

Another particularly distinctive feature of the project is the FAAC GBF 1500 automatic pivot-and-slide door installed at the reception entrance. This solution was chosen to optimise the available space, ensure that the opening remained compliant with escape-route requirements and, at the same time, enhance the appearance of the resort’s main entrance.

As it was not possible to install a conventional sliding door, the pivot-and-slide solution provided the ideal way to combine technical requirements, safety and design.

A greater sense of security and an enhanced welcome

The new system also had an immediate impact on the guest experience. “The feedback has been extremely positive,” says Cattel. “Guests feel safer, better protected and even better looked after. Once they understood how the system worked, our senior guests also responded very positively to the new solutions.”

Automation has enabled the holiday village to gain greater control over access to its exclusive areas, improve traffic flow management and enhance overall security, without compromising the smooth and relaxing holiday experience.
