Magnetic launches mBorder Compact — the compact identity control gate designed for space-constrained environments
Magnetic is pleased to announce a new compact version of the ABC gate from the Momentum® range, named mBorder Compact. Developed in collaboration with FAAC France, this solution retains all the identification features of the mBorder, now in a compact format specifically designed for installations where space is limited and strong aesthetic requirements must be met.
The first installation was completed in November at the entrance of a casino in northern France, as a pilot project. The gate is fully operational and the casino management is currently assessing its performance; initial feedback has been positive.
For this project in France, the commercial chain is structured as follows: Magnetic supplies the gates to FAAC France, which then markets the complete solution together with the integrator LinkView to the Partouche Group, an operator managing around 40 casinos across France.
Within this casino environment, mBorder Compact leverages its identity control capabilities through facial recognition to verify that any individual wishing to access the gaming area is duly authorized, based on two main criteria:
- Minimum age requirement of 18 years
- Absence from the national gambling exclusion register
The system also enables fast, autonomous controlled access for holders of the Partouche Group’s Players Plus card.
Although the gate is designed for identification purposes, in this specific context the system does not perform any checks against border police databases: control is strictly limited to access management in accordance with client requirements and gaming authority regulations.
mBorder Compact therefore represents the ideal solution wherever an identification gate is required but available space does not allow for the installation of the standard mBorder version — for example at entrances to entertainment venues, ports, data centers, small terminals, or areas subject to dimensional constraints.
