East Klang Valley Expressway - EKVE - Malaysia
The East Klang Valley Expressway (EKVE) is a new tolled expressway which is still under construction in Klang Valley, Malaysia. The 39.5-kilometre-long (24.5 miles) expressway will connect Ukay Perdana in Ampang, to Bandar Sungai Long in Kajang, in the state of Selangor. The EKVE spans approximately 39 km (24km mainline and 15 km spur roads) and is a dual carriageway, two lanes in each direction and expandable to three lanes. A closed toll system has been designed to accommodate five toll plazas at each of the five planned interchanges along the entire expressway. This expressway is part of the Kuala Lumpur Outer Ring Road (KLORR) masterplan. The entire expressway is expected to be completed by the 2nd quarter of 2022. Once completed, the expressway will benefit 140,000 motorists per day and will be a catalyst for balanced urbanization and development growth in the Greater Kuala Lumpur through an efficient, a safe and reliable road for mobility of goods and people.
Magnetic Malaysia sold the products thanks to their long-term partnership with the local system integrator who supported them in promoting Magnetic and FAAC products.
The strong brand awareness and barrier reliability were also the keyponts which convinced the final customer.
A total of 80 Toll HighSpeed 2 barriers by Magnetic and 40 FAAC B614 barriers are installed throughout 5 toll plaza along the expressway.
The Toll HighSpeed 2 barriers are specifically dedicated to highway toll collection while the B614 FAAC barriers are used when lanes are closed to traffic or during maintenance period.
