For customers – for community
The 9th Annual Customer Appreciation and Charity Event took place on 20 and 21 February 2020. Activities began on Thursday 20 February with three groups touring the facility (including the new production area upstairs), meeting the team, and getting an overview of the subsidiary’s main activities. After lunch, training was available on FAAC bollards, the B680H & B614 FAAC barriers, Viking products, the Magnetic MicroDrive barrier and Magnetic pedestrian products.
In the evening there was a gathering with 88 guests on the ocean deck of the Crowne Plaza, with dinner, drinks, and music from Jon Cabrera. Cal Burch, from the House of Hope, described their work – which directly supports the local community by providing food, clothes, and bicycles to those most in need. Bruce Pate provided a brief business update and presented awards to the top customers.
On the busy Friday morning, all the members of the 13 teams participated in a scramble golf tournament, and 15 people toured Brevard Zoo. Unfortunately, the poor weather meant that the planned inshore fishing trip had to be cancelled. Continuing the tradition, all employees wore a ‘uniform’ to help identify them at their events. Golfers enjoyed shooting golf balls with a compressed air cannon – and will probably never forgot coming to Florida just to play golf in the cold. The customers and employees touring the zoo were able to feed the giraffes, and some even went kayaking behind the giraffe exhibit!
Throughout these events money was raised from, among other things, sponsorship, a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, the golf ball launcher, mulligans, and donations. A total of USD 18,690 was raised for the House of Hope.
The organization of next year’s event will start soon and the organizers hope for full attendance – and look forward to continuing to grow their relationships with the customers throughout the year and at this great event. They thank everyone for their support.
