Case Study: Revitalizing Security and Aesthetics for a Large Insurance Company in Lower Austria

Background: The entrance building of a prominent insurance company in Lower Austria required a comprehensive renovation. The existing security systems (glass access control turnstiles and swing doors) failed to meet updated security standards and aesthetic expectations after a stress test. The stainless steel finishes appeared outdated, prompting a need for a modern redesign of the reception area.

Challenges:

  • Integrating a new security system that meets heightened security requirements.
  • Aligning with the architect’s vision of an open, airy design featuring wood and vibrant colors.
  • Managing the installation within a tight timeframe.
  • Addressing the existing underfloor heating during the system upgrade.
  • Modifying and integrating an existing competitor’s swing door into the new setup.

Solution: our local subsidiary FAAC Türautomation Austria GmbH proposed the installation of mWing access control gates, known for their state-of-the-art design and user-friendly guidance with pictograms. The system offered several customization options to blend seamlessly with the new reception area.

Implementation:

  • Adhesive plates were used to install the mWing systems, minimizing the need to drill into the floor and protecting the underfloor heating.
  • The existing swing door was modified in height and length, rewired, and integrated into one of the three new access points.
  • The new system included an additional access point to enhance flow and security.

Results: The insurance company now boasts a contemporary, visually appealing reception area that meets modern security standards. The Magnetic mWing access control gates have provided a high-quality visual welcome to visitors, perfectly fitting the architect’s open and airy design concept.

Conclusion: This project exemplifies how Magnetic’s innovative solutions can meet stringent security requirements while enhancing aesthetic appeal, even within tight deadlines and complex installation environments.
